THE PHYSICOCHEMICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF RECYCLED-PLASTIC PELLETS OBTAINED FROM DISPOSABLE FACE MASK WASTES. The government policy to wear a face mask during the COVID-19 pandemic has increased disposable wastes. Thus, reduce such wastes, it is necessary evaluate physicochemical characteristics of masks wastes before recycling process and recycled products. In this study, characterization 3-ply plastic pellets after disinfection using 0.5% v/v sodium hypochlorite were evaluated. A set parameters including surface morphology by scanning electron microscope (SEM), functional groups properties fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy (FT-IR), thermal behavior differential calorimetry (DSC), tensile strength elongation at break morphological each layer showed that layers composed non-woven fibers. FT-IR evaluation revealed was made from polypropylene. At same time, DSC analysis found polypropylene in form homopolymer. SEM rough uneven surface. FT-IR, similarity with virgin PP type CP442XP secondary (COPLAST COMPANY). summary, become recommended for handling problem.
